The Barbury Inn

The Barbury is a small country inn set at the edge of the idyllic Wiltshire village of Broad Hinton, nestled in rolling hills. It is an ideal spot for those who enjoy great food, real ales and wonderful wines. Unashamedly passionate about what he does, Head Chef Roger Hawkshaw insists on sourcing fresh local ingredients where possible in his frequently changing menus, and his presentation is worthy of an art award. The "Sharing Feasting Menu" is well known and popular with larger groups e.g. a whole suckling pig or entire rack of lamb or Rib of Beef. All the food is prepared on site, often utilising the abundance of produce available from local allotments and kitchen gardens and The Barbury credits the producers on their menus - i.e. "Alex's Rhubarb" Crumble – this has created something of a challenge in the village as to who can provide the inn with the freshest/best produce – mutually beneficial. Sunday lunches are hugely popular, with a completely fresh/new menu that always includes a proper English roast meat with all the trimmings, plus vegetarian and sustainable fish and seafood options. The Barbury can cater for all types of private functions, whether it is for a very special afternoon with home-made traditional cream teas and sandwiches in the pretty secluded garden, a Shoot lunch, their famous picnic hampers or a full blown party.
