The Delaunay

Starting at a bright 7:00am from Monday to Friday (and at a more refined 8am on Saturdays and 9.00am on Sundays), breakfast is served from an extensive menu. An extensive à la carte menu is available throughout the day, seven days a week, inspired by the grand cafés of Europe. The menu has a wide choice of dishes from platters of crustacea to salads, and café classics such as choucroute à l'Alsacienne, moules frites and steaks, as well as a special selection of Wieners and Schnitzels. A tempting array of cakes, slices, desserts and ice cream coupes follows. The Delaunay is perfectly located for early pre- and late post-theatre meals and the Viennese Afternoon Tea is served every day of the week, with a choice of assorted savouries, poppy seed Gugelhupfs with apricot jam and whipped cream, a selection of classic Viennese cakes and choice of teas (or coffees) as well as ice cream coupes, milkshakes and floats. All the pastries are made on the premises, with an ever-changing selection of cakes and slices, which might include a Lemon and Pistachio Millefeuille, a Sachertorte or a Coffee and Stroh Rum Cake. The Delaunay's brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday until late in the afternoon. The Counter at The Delaunay, with its own separate entrance on Aldwych, serves take-out or eat-in food throughout the day. The Delaunay's two Private Dining Rooms seat up to 8 and 14 guests respectively and are available to book for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The two rooms can also be opened up to accommodate a long table of 24 guests. Located on a raised level above the ground floor of the restaurant, both rooms are discreetly shielded from the outside world yet flooded with light from large windows during the day. Clad in beautiful wood panelling and featuring original paintings from the restaurant's outstanding collection, the rooms are perfect for celebratory meals, as well as business gatherings.
