Andrew Edmunds

Established in 1986, Andrew Edmunds is considered one of the last bastions of 'old Soho'. This 18th century town house has, for almost thirty years, attracted many loyal guests. This is the perfect spot for old-school romance, particularly during the evening when it is lit almost entirely by the wine bottle candles scattered on the wooden tables. It has a relaxed, no pretence atmosphere and a delicious bistro-style menu filled with fresh, seasonal classics. There is also a well-priced wine list, stocked with fabulous French vintages, and a good selection of Italian, South American, Australian and South African blends, to cater for other worldly palates. If you are tired of the boring many new concepts and high street chains, there is so much to be smitten about at Andrew Edmunds. There is also a private room available (Saturdays and Sundays) for parties up to 25 guests.

Was taken to Trinity by a friend as a treat and had a wonderful evening. The restaurant was warm and inviting and the decor very pleasant. The menu is very interesting and varied. My starter of tuna carpaccio, avocado, sesame and lime was beautiful, light and very flavoursome, and the red deer cooked over charcoal, with quince, turnip tops and kasha that followed was cooked to perfection. If you are not shy when it comes to calories, the sumptuous salt caramel soft ice cream served with warm madeleines is a perfect end to the meal. Service was attentive and pleasant. Would definitely recommend to other diners. The only think that could be made better is the acoustics, as the restaurant does get very noisy when full.
