Andrew Edmunds

Established in 1986, Andrew Edmunds is considered one of the last bastions of 'old Soho'. This 18th century town house has, for almost thirty years, attracted many loyal guests. This is the perfect spot for old-school romance, particularly during the evening when it is lit almost entirely by the wine bottle candles scattered on the wooden tables. It has a relaxed, no pretence atmosphere and a delicious bistro-style menu filled with fresh, seasonal classics. There is also a well-priced wine list, stocked with fabulous French vintages, and a good selection of Italian, South American, Australian and South African blends, to cater for other worldly palates. If you are tired of the boring many new concepts and high street chains, there is so much to be smitten about at Andrew Edmunds. There is also a private room available (Saturdays and Sundays) for parties up to 25 guests.

Had a lovely dinner. Excellent wine and good uncomplicated food. I wonder if you might bend your rules to include gin in your aperitifs? My guest would really have liked one

Yet another superb evening!

We visit Andrew Edumunds every time we come down to London from Newcastle, about four or five times a year, and it's always a highlight of our visits! We LOVE this place and have been coming since we first discovered it about nine years ago. The food is always excellent, as is the ambience. The staff are wonderful - knowledgeable, friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive. Andrew Edmunds deserves every accolade it has earned. Simply wonderful!

I finally managed to visit this restaurant after having walked past it so many times. I loved the Georgian cosy interior and the menu was interesting and appetising - I chose hare leg! The only negative was the waiter who despite trying to be friendly was over familiar. When asking for an ameretto at the end of the night he responded “we are not Wetherspoons”. Another friend had food spilt on him by another waiter.

I''ve not eaten here for a while and my goodness it's as fabulous if not more fabulous than ever. Everything just really, really lovely; unfussy, deliciously, tastefully and comfortably unpretentious, beautifully efficient and quietly friendly. There's nowhere I can think of, whatever your mood or reason for eating, as brilliant for making you feel better about more or less everything.

Wonderful dinner!
