Frédéric Bistro (Maidstone)

Chef-patron Ulric Allsebrook draws on his cultural upbringing in the Dordogne region of South West France, where good food and good wine marry themselves to good company. The offering at Frédéric Bistro reflects his passion about good quality ingredients and favours seasonal produce and local suppliers whenever this is possible and whenever this does not compromise on the quality. As a scratch-cook Ulric does not believe that food should be rushed and as such please do not be offended if it feels a little slower than your average café – as a result, the intensity of the quality does shine through and it really is worth that extra 5 minutes. Uric's wife Sarah makes all the lovely cakes and puddings on display in the window - this really is a family business and the atmosphere and service really does benefit from it. Ulric is always on hand from his open kitchen to listen to your feedback and ideas so please don't hesitate to let him know what you think! Well worth a visit.

A lovely atmospheric place if pretty noisy when it’s busy. And that seems to be most of the time. Nicer for us to sit at one of the small tables outside. Bouibaise washed down with Merlot was perfection. Lovely staff, no rush, simply sublime.

Sat outside for a lunch, service and food both excellent cannot fault. Fantastic to see the restaurant busy, testament to how safe people feel with the measures the restaurant has in place during the current situation. Definitely recommend you wont be disappointed.
