Porterhouse Steakhouse

Porterhouse is located at the end of Jewry Street next to the Theatre Royal. As the name suggests, the restaurant specialises in steaks, using only the finest Argentinian beef 100% grass fed and naturally reared. The décor is warm, modern and welcoming with some serious statement wallpaper, comfortable black leather chairs and wood flooring, and has an open kitchen allowing you to see the chefs in action. It's about doing something simple and doing it better than anybody else. That something is beef. 100% grass fed, naturally reared beef. The food is indeed top quality and the steaks are cooked exactly as ordered - the meat is very tender and flavoursome and the accompanying sauces are delicious. One of the most popular dishes is the 32oz Porterhouse steak for 2; the chef will come and carve it at the table if you are having trouble coping with it! All steaks come in a variety of weights with a choice of Tenderloin, Sirloin, Rump and T Bone cuts. A steak can be one of two things - good - or not good, there is little middle ground, but good steaks can range from OK to a carnivore's heaven. Suffice it to say the steaks at Porterhouse are simply excellent - but it does not stop there – the varied menu also includes other great dishes such as herbs-crusted lamb, pan-fried fillet of sea bass or a vegetarian mille-feuilles.
