The Old Polegate Station
The Old Polegate Station Restaurant is an independent family run business offering a relaxed atmosphere, an extensive range of menus and a large selection of draught beers and good wines. The food is worth the wait at busy periods as all of the meals are freshly prepared to order. The Old Polegate Station as its name suggests was Polegate's station from 1881 to 1986, when the station was moved to its present position in the High Street.
The restaurant serves classic dishes that are home-made such as Steak & Stilton Pie, Steak & Kidney Pudding, Lasagne and Liver & Bacon. There is also a good selection of vegetarian options including Brie and Beetroot Tart, together with fresh locally caught fish (when available). There is a very good Sunday Roasts on offer which includes Beef, Pork, Lamb or Turkey and come with six freshly cooked vegetables, roast potatoes and home-made Yorkshire pudding.
