Crossways Restaurant

Crossways is a beautiful hotel set in the heart of East Sussex where a warm welcome always awaits guests from the resident proprietors Clive James and David Stott or one of their team of loyal helpers. Now in their 26th year at Crossways Hotel they continue to welcome old and new friends to their small Georgian country house Restaurant with Rooms which also offers a Self Catering Cottage. Crossways nestles under the Southdown's within East Sussex close to Eastbourne, the Longman of Wilmington and Glyndebourne Opera House as well as being the ideal accommodation for visiting Lewes and Alfriston. Crossways is the place to stay for your visit to Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Making it the ideal Glyndebourne Hotel for those who are lucky enough to have tickets to the opera. A special two-night Glyndebourne break offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a Gourmet four-course dinner in the AA 2 Rosette restaurant alternating with a night at the opera. David Stott and Clive James have been in the restaurant business for over thirty years and were pioneers in the late 70's for introducing the "Fixed Price" menu to the Brighton dining out scene. Their philosophy remains the same today, offering fresh local ingredients prepared with style and affection and served in comfortable surrounding with personal service at an affordable all inclusive price. The restaurant's main suppliers are close at hand, the meat, local lamb and beef comes mostly from Stones Cross, game in season from local estates. Fish is from nearby Hastings while eggs come from just down the road. Being one of only two 2 AA Rosette restaurants in the Eastbourne area the Restaurant @ Crossways continues to offer returning visitor and new guests a memorable evening and meal experience.

Have followed the proprieters since they started in the Fig Leaf restaurant nearly 40 years ago. The standard was high then and has never dropped. Best quality / value dinner within 20 miles of Brighton.
