English's of Brighton
English's of Brighton is one of the oldest and most well known restaurants in the country with a rich and fascinating history and is located at the entrance to the world famous 'Lanes' in the oldest part of Brighton.
Seafood has been served on this site for over 150 years and offers a unique restaurant with a warm welcome in Edwardian splendour. On the ground floor is the famous marble topped Oyster Bar where you can enjoy half a dozen natives and a glass of champagne or have a full meal whilst enjoying the buzz of a busy bar.
The Red Room is the main dining room and echoes back to the Edwardian era. With murals by local artist Marcus Stone, plush red velvet and the intimate layout of the tables, the Red Room evokes an atmosphere of days gone by.
On the first floor are located three inter-connecting dining rooms perfect for party bookings, wedding receptions, and tour parties. The rooms are: Spode accommodating up to 26 people. Wedgwood accommodating up to 20 and Minton, a smaller room which accommodates up to 10 people.
There is no better place to dine than on the covered and heated Terrace. Seafood, fine wines, sunshine and watching the world go by with live jazz or opera playing regularly.
